I have a meeting with boss on tomorrow , i have to do some stupid copy paste arranging of data (millions of numbers!), run some dumb ANOVA, do some post hoc analyses of my data!! Arggggggghhhh!! Can I say, "I dont give a damn!!"?
Please!! who cares whether the insect calls from the ground or canopy? Whether it is managing to get his calls as far as possible? By the rate at which my papers have been trashed by the editors (in spite of glowing reviews from reviewers btw), I know that the answer is 'No one!'.
Listen @$$ it is not my fault tht i was born in the "third world"! I am doing a decent and well, FYI, an honest job! It is not my fault either that you don't seem to have an ounce of brain in your skull! If you send a paper for review, you bloody well listen to what the reviewer is saying! If s/he says it is a valuable contribution to the field, then that is what it is! If s/he suggests it should be accepted in the current form, you better not ask me to cut it down to a short communication!
If you say that you "suspect that the estimates are incorrect", then please let us know how do you reach to that conclusion? Do you smell the papers and decide? Oh tht is not possible either, i sent you an e-copy, remember?
And after having said tht you SUSPECT (have you been watching too much of Karamchand or what?) the work is incorrect (totally over-ruling the referee's comments suggesting a well planed and carefully executed experimental design!), dare you not suggest that we should publish it in an Indian Journal!

Oops! water has come, run run I have to fill the buckets before the tap runs dry for the next 12 hours! Wash the dishes too, maybe. Shall get one round of clothes washed too? No, I should finish those graphs....ummm....no! the graphs have to wait I guess!!
People on campus (hotel inmates) count your blessings, with the mess and cheap hostel accommodation, you have no idea how much you are pampered! I didn't either :-/

@Sudharshan Oh! she is no big fan of statistics either and as for the editor in question, she will agree with me . in fact a senior faculty member at CES read the post and mailed me saying he more than agreed with me :) (he is on an editorial board himself ) :)
