Wonderful Wayanad (1)

The much postponed trip to kerala was finally done over an extended weekend. This was my visit to Kerala after 5 years. Last trip made was to another beauty, Silent Valley National Park, when i was still chasing birds and not crickets :)

The details of the trip will have to be posted in parts because I have to jot down every detail of the trip for record, it will come handy for the next trip I plan to Wayanad.

This post can be treated more as an appetizer.... the main course will come soon. Here I am going to put up a few picture (mostly landscape) that were not part of any particular destination.... who cares for the destination anyway, it is the journey that matters

On the way to kerala, some random stops we made here and there, some intentionally, others unintended. Can't name most places I saw.. it is not down on any map...someone wise said, true places never are!

Sun rising over chembra peak; forest wagtail wandering in paddy fields; Sunrise in Kalpetta, town bus stand in background;tea estates adding to the million shades of green of Wayanad

Misty mornings.. wonder how it would be during the rains

Small town of Meppadi, on the way to Meenamutty

Chembra Peak

 Coffee beans
Wanted to drink freshly ground coffee.. didnt happen in this trip.. one more reason to visit again!

Mallu footballers all geared up.. jersey, footbal shoes and the inevitable loongi :)

Sunset in Wayanad was breath-taking. Of the three sunsets we saw, one was behind the western ghats...it is hard to describe in words how darkness suddenly falls as the sun is masked by the massive mountains!

Some of the most awesome moments and sightings happened here in Kerala, most of which i could not capture in the camera.... but remember not all beauties are for all eyes to see!
